Noob Games Lab

Privacy Policy

Last updated

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit www.noobgameslab.com, including the blog at /blog/, and what your choices are. The short version: we do not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.

Who we are

Noob Games Lab is an independent game development lab run by a private individual. This site is a static website with no user accounts, forms or comments. For any privacy question or request, email hello@noobgameslab.com.

What we do not collect

  • No cookies, local storage or similar technologies.
  • No analytics, statistics or visitor tracking.
  • No advertising, pixels or social media widgets.
  • No third-party fonts or scripts: fonts, images and styles are served from this domain.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on GitLab Pages. When you open a page, your browser sends a request to GitLab’s servers, which necessarily receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. GitLab and its infrastructure providers may log this data to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors. GitLab processes this data under its own privacy statement, and it may be processed in the United States.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you email us

If you write to hello@noobgameslab.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We use this only to read and reply to you. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed for that conversation and any follow-up, and delete it on request unless we are legally required to keep it. Our email provider processes these messages on our behalf.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your message, or steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Links to other sites

Blog posts link to other websites such as Reddit, Steam and itch.io. The Share on X button is a plain link: nothing is sent to X unless you click it. Once you follow a link, the other site’s privacy policy applies.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and UK GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use these rights, email hello@noobgameslab.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page before the change takes effect and change the date at the top.
